The Migdaley Shekel Group is active in various parts of Israel including Kfar Sava, Raanana, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Since the 1990s it has also undertaken projects abroad, in Switzerland and the USA.
The Group is involved in the construction, development and promotion of real estate projects for rent throughout the country. In the early years the emphasis was on housing but since the turn of the century activities have expanded into the field of commercial and office buildings.

From its earliest years the Migdaley Shekel Group was managed by Gerald (Yak) Selbst.
Yak was born in New York and came to settle in Israel in 1949. In 1950 he went to England to study law at the London School of Economics. On his return to Israel in 1954 after completing his studies he began what was to be a long career in real estate as a junior member of the staff of Africa Israel Investments. When he resigned from the firm in 1978 he had served as its Managing Director for ten years. He went on to manage Azorim and Panerama, two other important real estate firms, and in the early 1990s he was appointed Managing Director of Migdaley Shekel.
Over the years Yak played a central role in many real estate ventures. Among them were Savyon. Rimon, Givat Savyon, Tzomet Savyon, the Industrial Park of the Weizmann Institute, the Tiberias Hot Springs and the adjacent Ganei Hamat hotel, the commercial project of Pamerama in south Tel Aviv and many more commercial and residential projects scattered across the country.
During the course of his activities he developed close ties with a number of important Jewish real estate developers from abroad. Their trust they placed in his integrity and enterprise led them to invest in Israel and to rely on him to represent their interests. Their investments made a significant contribution to the Israel economy.
Gerald (Yak) Selbst died in December 2013 at the age of eighty seven after a lifetime of intense and productive activity, which continued until his last days. The management of Migdaley Shekel has now passed into the hands of his son, Yoram Selbst as Chairman of the Board and Avi Findling, a veteran member of the senior staff of the company, as Managing Director Their.
